His first invention was the filter holder, which led to the creation of the first espresso coffee machine, called "Ideale."
The Revolutionary Horizontal Coffee Machine
In 1948, La Pavoni manufactured its first machine with a horizontal boiler. This project was conceived by Gio Ponti, Antonio Fornaroli, and Alberto Rosselli, whose collaboration led to the creation of Model 47, named LA CORNUTA due to its brewing groups protruding out from the cylindrical boiler body.
Enthusiasm and Design
This project was developed by Bruno Munari and Enzo Mari, featuring a distinctive body design. The modular geometric parts allow for the construction of machines with more than one group, emphasising colour coordination.
Modern Revolution
The collaboration between Alberto Rosselli and Angelo Tito Anselmi resulted in the creation of the BRASILIA model in 1961. In the same year, building on an idea from a Milanese artisan, La Pavoni launched its first electric machine for domestic use. This machine was capable of brewing espresso coffee and hot drinks, just like those in cafes. It was named EUROPICCOLA.
A new era
The Esperto models are La Pavoni's latest competition machines for espresso specialists. Representing the cutting-edge of domestic lever machines, they feature valuable materials and the ability to continuously monitor brewing pressure through the lever pull. This allows even the most demanding users to brew a customised espresso through repeatable extraction curves, ensuring precision and consistency.
